(4/7/2022) Eight master and PhD students in the Industrial & Systems Engineering and Data Science and Business Analytics (DSBA) programs in the College of Engineering, Wayne State University, had a plant tour to the Engineering Center of Airspace Experience Technologies (ASX), Inc. located at the Coleman A. Young International Airport in Detroit. ASX’s CEO, Jon Rimanelli, the Propulsion and Controls Lead, Conor Hughes, along with other ASX engineers hosted the tour. Photography was prohibited in most part of the tour, but ASX's remarkable technologies will be released to the public soon and will surely marvel the urban air mobility (UAM) sector and the aviation industry at large. This event is part of a series of student ambassador site tours to local businesses led by the ISE faculty, aimed at enriching students’ educational experience and bringing young talents closer to the workforce. More such field trips are being planned.
(3/1/2022) Ten master and PhD students in the Industrial & Systems Engineering and Data Science and Business Analytics (DSBA) programs in the College of Engineering, Wayne State University, had a plant tour to ATCO Industries, Inc. in Sterling Heights, MI. ATCO’s director of technology, Ben Messick, an alumnus of the DSBA program, hosted the tour by giving an informative presentation with round-table discussion, followed by a guided tour of ATCO’s industry-leading warehousing, sorting and quality inspection work areas. This event is part of a series of student ambassador site tours to local businesses led by the ISE faculty, aimed at enriching students’ educational experience and bringing young talents closer to the workforce. More such field trips are being planned.
